Aman woke up late on Monday and rushed to school. While walking to class, he suddenly remembered that he had left his English homework on his bedroom desk. During the first period, the teacher asked everyone to hand in their notebooks. Aman felt nervous but raised his hand and said, “I’m sorry, ma’am. I forgot my homework at home. May I bring it tomorrow?”

The teacher looked serious for a moment. Then she said kindly, “Thank you for telling the truth. Please bring it first thing in the morning.” Aman nodded gratefully. After school, he went straight home, finished the last exercise, and placed the notebook inside his bag. The next day, he handed it in on time. The teacher smiled and said, “Being responsible means fixing a mistake quickly. Well done.”
